Doncaster Circle of the Catenian Association celebrated its 1000th meeting in style at Castle Park, Doncaster on 10 November.
The evening commenced with Mass concelebrated by Bishop Ralph and Fathers Darren Reid, John McNamee, Michael Hall and Nigel Barr.
After the 1000th meeting, over one hundred brothers of the Circle and guests enjoyed a three course celebration dinner.
The Guest of Honour was John Hogan, Great Britain National Vice-President of the Association.
Doncaster Circle first met on 20 October, 1927 at the Catholic Institute, Doncaster. The foundation members included seven doctors, three dentists, a mineral water producer, two licenced victuallers and a ventriloquist! It has met on a monthly basis (except in August) ever since.
The Catenian Association has Circles in Hallam Diocese in Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Chesterfield.
